Terms of Service

Welcome to Aesop Data ("Aesop Data", "we", "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Aesop Data website, applications and services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Aesop Data is a data-visualisation and storytelling tool. It lets you explore public datasets, build and annotate charts, save collections of charts as "Fables", and export or present them. Some features are free; others require a paid plan as described on our pricing page.

2. Accounts

To use certain features you sign in with a third-party identity provider (such as Google). You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your identity provider secure. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, to create an account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law or infringe anyone's rights when using the Service;
• upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is unlawful, defamatory, or abusive;
• attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or gain unauthorised access to the Service;
• publish material that is misleading in a way designed to deceive, or that impersonates others.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the data you upload and the Fables you create. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display that content solely to operate the Service for you. If you publish a Fable publicly, you grant other users the ability to view and, where enabled, fork it.

5. Data and accuracy

Charts draw on third-party and public data sources. We provide this information "as is" for general and educational purposes. It is not investment, financial, legal or professional advice. Always verify figures against the original source before relying on them.

6. Paid plans and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance. Prices, billing periods and what each plan includes are shown on the pricing page. We may change prices with reasonable notice; changes do not affect the period you have already paid for.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. This means Paddle.com Market Ltd handles payment, billing, invoicing and refund requests on our behalf. Refunds are handled under our refund policy.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
